The makers of Jigarthanda Double X have released the teaser of the film, which is a sequel to the 2009 hit Jigarthanda. The teaser was launched by four South Indian superstars: Mahesh Babu, Dhanush, Dulquer Salmaan and Rakshit Shetty in their respective languages.
The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj, who also wrote and produced the film under his banner Stone Bench Films. The film stars Raghava Lawrence and SJ Surya in the lead roles, along with Nimisha Sajayan as the female lead. The film is set in 1975 and follows the story of a filmmaker and a gangster, who agree to make a biopic on the latter’s life. The teaser has only English dialogues, so there was no need to release it in different languages.
The teaser shows the efforts of the makers to recreate the 1970s era, with a western style of filmmaking. The teaser also has a humorous dialogue, where the hero changes Pan India to Pandya Western. The film is expected to release on Diwali and cater to a pan-Indian audience.
