Daggubati Suresh Babu Senstional comments on Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s Arrest: The film industry and politics are often intertwined, but not for the Telugu Desam Party. The party was founded by the legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao aka NTR, and has many connections with the film fraternity. However, when Chandrababu Naidu, the party chief, was arrested, there was hardly any reaction from the industry bigwigs. Only a few people like Raghavendra Rao and Aswani Dutt spoke up. Natti Kumar, a noted producer, questioned why the star heroes and producers were silent on the issue.
Suresh Babu, another veteran producer, gave his opinion on the matter. He said that the issue was sensitive and the industry preferred to stay away from such controversies. He said that the industry was apolitical and did not comment on any political or sensitive issues. He cited the example of how the industry did not take sides during the Andhra-Telangana bifurcation.
Suresh Babu also acknowledged that TDP had a close relationship with the industry and supported it in many ways. He said that his father was a TDP member and an MP. He said that they might have personal preferences for parties or leaders, but as an industry, they did not make any political statements. He said that they were filmmakers and their focus was on making films.
