Rashmika Mandanna is a huge fan of anime. She recently attended the Crunchyroll celebration of anime event in Mumbai, where she shared her love for the genre and interacted with other anime enthusiasts.
Rashmika said that she grew up watching anime and her favorites include Naruto, Sakura, Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Attack on Titan. She shared that anime has shaped her personality by motivating her to be courageous, kind, and resilient. She also confessed that she enjoys dressing up as her beloved characters and that she owns a lot of anime merchandise at home.
At the event, Rashmika also got to meet Tiger Shroff, another Bollywood star who is an avid anime fan. The two actors bonded over their common passion and even got their own anime avatars with the Anime Lens by Snapchat. They also enjoyed a special screening of Jujutsu Kaisen, one of the most loved anime series of the recent years.
Rashmika expressed her gratitude to Crunchyroll, the leading streaming service for anime, for organizing the event and bringing anime closer to the Indian audience. Rashmika said, she is happy to see that anime is gaining more recognition and appreciation in India and she hopes to see more people join the anime community.
Crunchyroll is the world’s largest destination for anime and manga, with more than 500 titles, 3800 hours of content and 7500 episodes available for streaming in India. It also offers Hindi dubs, with Telugu and Tamil dubs in the pipeline. Crunchyroll’s president, Rahul Purini, said that India has the second-largest anime fandom in the world and will drive 60% of the global growth in anime interest in the next few years.
