San Diego Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con International (SDCC) is a comic book convention and nonprofit multi-genre entertainment event held annually in San Diego, California, since 1970. It was initially known as the Golden State Comic Book Convention. The name was changed in 1974 to reflect the increasing popularity of the convention and its growing attendance.

SDCC is one of the world’s largest and most popular comic book conventions, with over 135,000 attendees in 2022. The convention features a wide variety of events and activities, including:

  • Exhibits from comic book publishers, toy companies, film studios, and television networks
  • Panels and presentations with comic book creators, actors, and other celebrities
  • Signings and meet-and-greets with celebrities
  • Screenings of new films and television episodes
  • Costume contests
  • The Artists’ Alley, where independent comic book artists and writers sell their work

SDCC is a popular destination for fans of all ages who enjoy comic books, science fiction, fantasy, and other forms of pop culture. Tickets for the convention are sold out months in advance, and the event can be pretty crowded. However, the experience of attending SDCC is one that many fans always remember.
