Chiranjeevi Blood Bank Controversy Leads to Jail Sentence for Actor Jeevitha, Rajasekhar

The Nampally Court of Hyderabad delivered a stunning verdict in a defamation case against actor Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha Rajasekhar. The court sentenced the couple to one year in jail and imposed a fine of Rs.5 thousand. The judgment came to light recently.

The case was filed by famous producer Allu Aravind in 2011, after Jeevitha and Rajasekhar accused Megastar Chiranjeevi for selling the blood donated to Chiranjeevi Blood Bank in Hyderabad city. Allu Aravind claimed that the couple defamed the service programs and trusts run by Chiranjeevi. He presented media reports as evidence to support his claim.

The court pronounced its verdict on Tuesday after a long trial. The couple was granted bail by the High Court after paying the fine. This gave them some temporary relief. The court’s decision to send the couple to jail has sparked a lot of discussion in Tollywood.
