The Race to 1000 Crores: Which Films Have the Potential to Surpass Pathan’s Record-Breaking Collection

Shahrukh Khan Pathan silenced all the critics of Bollywood with blockbuster success. The film earned 1000 crores in gross collections at a time when Bollywood was facing severe criticism after covid. It also became the first Indian film to reach 1000 crores this year. However, Adipurush, starring Pan India Star Prabhas, failed to meet the expectations and flopped at the box office. It only managed to collect 400 crores. As of now, Pathan’s collection seems to be the highest this year.

In this scenario, a Telugu film and a Hindi film are the main contenders to beat Pathan. One of them is Shah Rukh’s Jawaan. The film is directed by Atlee and has huge expectations. It is a massive action entertainer. The teaser and trailer of the movie created a record-breaking hype. The film is releasing next month and is being marketed on a large scale. America, Germany, Middle East and UK are expected to have strong bookings. If the word of mouth is positive, the Tamil-Telugu versions of the film might take off. Atlee has never disappointed so far. All his films are hits. Therefore, the trade predicts that if the film is a hit, it will easily cross the 1000 crore mark. Another big action entertainer, Salaar, is also releasing next month with huge expectations. The promotional contents have already generated a lot of buzz. It is Prashant Neel’s next film after KGF-2 and it has a pan-India appeal. It is anticipated that Salaar will make up for Prabhas’ failures. If the talk is good, there are chances that Salaar will collect more than 1000 crores.

There are also high expectations for Leo, starring Vijay and directed by Lokash Kanagaraj. Although Vijay does not have a pan-India market, it is hoped that Lokesh, who is famous across india after blockbuster success of Vikram, will deliver a good film with the brand and make huge collections.
