Jailer Pre Release Business: Jailer is the upcoming movie of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, which will release on Thursday (August 10). The movie has created a lot of buzz among the fans. The prerelease business of the movie was done at a whopping Rs.123 crores, which means the movie has to collect around Rs.250 crores worldwide to be declared as a clean hit.
The advance bookings for the movie have started and they are very promising. Jailer is expected to have the highest opening collections of 2023. The movie is directed by Nelson Dileep and features Tamannaah as the female lead. The movie also has a star-studded cast, including Mohanlal, Shivraj Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Ramyakrishna, and Yogi Babu. The movie is releasing in Tamil Nadu with an unofficial holiday on the day of its release.
Jailer is a sure-shot blockbuster in terms of opening collections, but it has to sustain the momentum to recover its high costs. The theatrical rights of Jailer were sold for Rs.60 crores in Tamil Nadu, Rs.10 crores in Karnataka, Rs.12 crores in AP and Telangana, Rs.5.5 crores in Kerala, and Rs.4 crores in the rest of India. The overseas rights were sold for Rs.32 crores.
According to some reports on social media, Rajinikanth has charged Rs.110 crores as his remuneration for Jailer. Mohanlal, who plays a cameo role in the movie, has reportedly received Rs.8 crores. Shivraj Kumar, who plays an important role in the movie, has reportedly got Rs.4 crores. Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, Yogi Babu, Ramyakrishna, and Vasant Ravi have also received hefty paychecks for their roles in Jailer.
