Jailer Movie Day 1 Box Office Collection Worldwide : Rajinikanth’s movie ‘Jailer’ has received a positive response from the audience. It has surpassed the expectations and earned a good amount on the first day. The film has done well especially in the Telugu states, where it has collected more than any of Rajinikanth’s previous films, except for ‘Robo 2.0’. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Jailer has grossed Rs. 12.00 crore and shared Rs. 7.01 crore on the first day. The film has collected Rs. 3.21 crore in Nizam, Rs. 94 lakh in Ceeded, Rs. 81 lakh in Uttarandhra, Rs. 40 lakh in East Godavari, Rs. 33 lakh in West Godavari, Rs. 65 lakh in Guntur, Rs. 45 lakh in Krishna and Rs. 22 lakh in Nellore.
The film has also performed well across the world. It has collected Rs. 12.50 crore (including the Tamil version) in Telugu, Rs. 22.85 crore in Tamil, Rs. 11.80 crore in Karnataka, Rs. 5.85 crore in Kerala, Rs. 3.10 crore in Rest of India and Rs. 35.10 crore in overseas markets. The total worldwide gross of the film is Rs. 91.20 crore and the total share is Rs. 44.75 crore. The film has done a worldwide business of Rs. 122.50 crore and needs to collect Rs. 240 crore to break even.
The film has collected Rs. 44.75 crore on the first day and needs to collect another Rs. 79.45 crore to break even worldwide. The Telugu version of the film has done a business of Rs. 12 crore and needs to collect Rs. 13 crore to break even. The film has collected Rs. 7.01 crore on the first day and needs to collect another Rs. 5.99 crore to break even in Telugu.
The film may benefit from the mixed reviews of Chiranjeevi’s ‘Bholashankar’, which was released along with ‘Jailer’. The Telugu audience may prefer to watch ‘Jailer’ instead of ‘Bholashankar’. This may also increase the number of theaters for ‘Jailer’. Therefore, achieving the break even target for ‘Jailer’ may not be a big challenge.
The film is directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar and stars Rajinikanth as a retired police officer who seeks revenge on a gang that killed his son. Mohanlal, Shivrajkumar and Jackie Shroff have guest roles in the film, while Tamannaah and Ramya Krishna play important roles.
