Nani, the natural star of Tollywood, has shared his views on Suriya’s Jai Bhim movie once more. He had earlier expressed his disappointment over the film not getting any National Award. He clarified that his words were misinterpreted by some people. Nani was speaking at the Telangana Round Table organised by India Today.
Nani praised Jai Bhim movie again on this occasion. Nani said that he wondered if the National Award jury had actually watched this film. Nani also expressed his happiness over the awards won by films like RRR and Pushpa, especially the best actor award for Telugu star Allu Arjun.
Nani explained, “Imagine that my sister at home and my cousin next door take exams. My sister passes. Cousin fails. Then my sister will be glad that she passed. But she will also feel sorry for her cousin. My reaction to Jai Bhim was similar,” Nani said. Nani said that Jai Bhim movie deserved a National Award in every aspect, but it was unfortunate that it did not get any recognition in any category.
Jai Bheem movie starred Suriya, who also produced the film. The film received rave reviews from critics. The film was directed by Gnanavel and was based on the life of Justice Chandru, a former judge of the Madras High Court. The film is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
